Ofsted Report 2019 – Northgate remains a ‘Good’ school
Northgate had a Section 8 Ofsted Inspection on 13th and 14th November 2019 to confirm that the school ‘remained good’. Three inspectors spent a day observing lessons and social times, and talking with a range of staff and students. The lead inspector remained for a second day, collating a range of feedback and evidence from further observations and discussions to ensure that we are maintaining high standards in all areas of our provision.
It is important to note that Northgate was inspected under the new inspection framework which was introduced in September 2019, and the inspection report, which can be accessed via the link below, has been written to reflect Ofsted’s new framework and reporting processes.
In summary, the inspector identified many positives about Northgate, our students, staff and governors, and provided us with two key suggestions of areas to focus on to continue to ensure that our provision is effective. This feedback has been incorporated into our school improvement planning.
